Hand Crafted Mosaic Glass Japanese Screen with a Tale of a Geisha Wedding

A one of a kind and wonderfully intricate artists Mosaic made entirely of art glass. Circa 1950-1960's, Mid 20th Century. The screen is 11 panels, 10 are 24.5" wide and the center panel is 30" wide. All panels are the same 96" height. The total length is 22'.91"

The tale represents a bride getting married. The brides father plants a coral tree when she is born, when she gets married, the tree's branches are made into a hope chest - she meets her maids in waiting across the bridge, and after being married is escort to the great Mount Fuji to live a life of prosperity and happiness. Japanese Screens are a symbol of wealth or Status and often tell stories of life, marriage, etc. - Found in temples, shrines and homes of he elite.

The screen would be easily shipped, or stored, as all pieces are relatively easy to navigate and stack. Each panel is free of damage cracks, chips or missing pieces.

Due to it's size, it a dynamic and masterful presentation - what honor a wall will have being it's supportive structure.. The colors and sheen on the glass are magnificent and will be honored for a lifetime and longer.
